“Winter 2009 Anime Preview”
Posted by: admin in Winter 2009 Anime list, blog, otaku, tags: 2009, Anime, list, winter
So even though this is my first year of blogging Japanese related stuff, I have manage to pick up two awesome writers and I’m proud to say we’ll be going into our/my second season of reviewing anime, manga, and other stuff. This season is the winter one. Now for some of you who may talk to me online, mainly in the Team Blue or Dasaku IRC, you’ll probably know I’m from Canada and Canada is very cold in the winter. Right now I’m sipping coffee, looking at the snow and getting ready for the new season which will definitely keep fans warm. Please enjoy the summaries and ect of next years winter season.

The credits will be at the end and other then that me (Little Neko) and Gargron are the only ones posting thoughts on this for now. I’ve tried contacting 7 but I haven’t got a hold of him, when he comes back I’ll let him decide if he wants to put his thoughts up.
Opening Images come from here
Btw; thanks to all the bloggers who put up the anime for 2009 winter season (ex; T.H.A.T, Yoroshiku)
Akikan!

Date Airs: January 3rd (But other websites have claimed 4th aswell)
Seiyuu: Jun Fukuyama (Aidou, Vampire Knights), Sayaka Narita (Kusu Kusu, Shugo Chara)
Animation: Brains Base
Summary
Akikan (”Empty Can”) is the unlikely story of high school boy Kakeru Daichi, whose can of melon juice soda magically transforms into a human girl. Naturally, more “akikan” girls begin appearing, each of them needing to be infused with carbon dioxide from kissing to survive.
Thoughts:
Little Neko: It sounds original, kind of, but also very odd. It scares me that at the current moment my coffee cup could be a girl. I’m drinking/digesting a human -_- Sadly I won’t be watching this, but I love the fact that Jun is doing a voice in this since I adored him in Vampire Knight (Guilty)
Gargron: Carbon dioxide, huh? :3 I wouldn’t add that anime to anime list, rather to a h list, lol.
Zoku Natsume Yuujin-Chou

Thoughts
Little Neko: This always looked boring to me but the actual summary makes it sound a bit more interesting, too bad I haven’t seen the first season. That’s right this is the sequel. So it’s another no-go for me. Unless I watch the first season.
Gargron: Interesting plot, the “6th sense” similar ability is quite original. Though I didn’t watch the 1st season…
Viper’s Creed

The story reloves around the memembers of a private military company (PMC), and the uneasy tension between them and the regular military after a war that caused massive enviromental destruction.
Thoughts
Little Neko: Not that I don’t have any feelings but this doesn’t seem my cup of tea and seems very depressing, which is something that I don’t need to feel in January.
Gargron: Not original at all. Nature catastrophes+WWIII+private organizations mix slowly douses.

Thoughts
Little Neko: This is another one I’m looking forward to =D A little spoiler for you all but this was the first anime I pick to watch for the winter season ^_^

Summary
Based on the novel by Budge Wilson, which is a prequel to Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables.

Thoughts
Little Neko; I’ll probably watch this on the side, and won’t review it. I’ll only watch it because two seiyuu’s are in it that I like. Nana-chan and Minori-san. But this, again like most other series, is a sequel so I’ll have to watch the first.
Gargron: I don’t like the style. It’s a reason enough to do not watch it.

He gives her his dinner, a bowl of ramen, and tries to protect her when she is attacked in an ambush by an unknown Mototsumitama. Keita loses his entire left arm during the fight between the Mototsumitamas, but Kuro was able to save his life by exchanging the decapitated arm with her own left arm since she has enhanced healing abilities like all Mototsumitamas. This creates a contract between them, which makes her more powerful than before. However, Kuro warns Keita that they need to be together all the time in order to be at their strongest.
As Kuro stays with Keita and gets acquainted with him while meeting with other Mototsumitamas and their human masters, they are targeted by the strongest Mototsumitama clan of the East, the Shishigami (Lion God) Clan in an attempt to kidnap Akane and bring about the destruction of the coexistence balance, which Mototsumitamas are supposed to protect. Based on a popular web-released manga series by Hidekazu Himaruya, this has been described as a “cynical gag” story set in Europe in the years between WW1 and WW2 (1915-1939), using exaggerated caricatures of the different nationalities as portrayed by a gaggle of bishōnen boys. For example, the Italia Veneziano character is into pasta and women. The Deutsche (German) bishi loves potatoes and sausages, and Nippon is an otaku boy. Installments of the manga have jumped back and forth in setting from the ancient times to modern-day geopolitics. The manga’s title comes the Japanese words for “useless” (hetare) and Italy (Italia).

Still waiting for yours on my blog. I seem not to have gotten an email reply from you for the second round.
Oh, you managed to make me interested in another anime for this season. I never even noticed Kemono no Souja Erin until just now. It does sound interesting.
Unfortunately, I’ll have to pretend that I still haven’t noticed it because I can’t afford to pick up many series this season, so I have to pretend like I didn’t notice it…
@Blissmo: Same with yah, Go Kemono No Souja Erin
@Panther: I’m sorry, I’ll send that to you tonight =D
@FuyuMaiden: Lol
I’m not even sure what I’m looking forward to this Winter, but I’m expecting at least something from White Album.
